What is Pride at Sea?
A hosted gay group cruise. Not a charter. Better than going alone.
Pride at Sea is the hosted gay group cruise program from Pride Travelers, the LGBTQ+-owned travel agency. We block a curated group of cabins on a regular Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, or Norwegian sailing — then run a parallel LGBTQ+ social calendar within the larger cruise. Welcome mixer day one, hosted group dinners, deck gatherings, group shore excursions, themed nights.
You get the polish of a five-star cruise line plus a built-in Pride community of LGBTQ+ travelers, couples, and allies sailing together from the moment you board. Not a full-ship gay charter — you keep the dining options, ports, and price point of a regular sailing. Not a solo cruise — you have your people on board from day one.
It’s the format we recommend most often for first-time gay cruisers, gay couples wanting a built-in social calendar, friend groups, and solo gay travelers who want a real community on board without paying full-ship-charter prices.

- ✓Solo gay travelers wanting easy social entry and roommate matching options.
- ✓Friend groups (4+ cabins) who want group rates, onboard credit, and a hosted social calendar that takes the planning off them.

Hosted vs charter vs solo
How Pride at Sea compares
There are three ways to book a gay cruise: full-ship charter (Atlantis), hosted group (Pride at Sea), or solo on a mainstream LGBTQ+-friendly line. Honest tradeoffs:
| Full Charter | Pride at Sea (Hosted) | Mainstream Solo | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost (7-day Caribbean) | $3,500–$6,000+ pp | $1,500–$2,500 pp | $800–$1,500 pp |
| Energy level | High — Pride party | Medium — opt-in events | Low — you decide |
| % LGBTQ+ on board | 100% | ~5–10% (curated) | ~3–8% (organic) |
| Built-in social network | Yes — massive | Yes — right-sized | No — you opt in |
| Solo-friendly | Yes | Yes — built in | Yes if proactive |
| Bring straight family/friends? | Not really | Sure, easy | Sure, easy |

Pride at Sea FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Pride at Sea
Not seeing your question? Call Pride Travelers at (888) 865-4525.
Q1What is a hosted gay group cruise?
A hosted gay group cruise is when a curated group of LGBTQ+ travelers books cabins together on a regular cruise sailing, with a host (Pride at Sea) running a parallel social calendar within the larger cruise. Welcome mixer, hosted dinners, group shore excursions, themed nights. You get the polish of a five-star cruise plus a built-in Pride community on board.
Q2How is Pride at Sea different from Atlantis Events or VACAYA?
Atlantis and VACAYA run full-ship gay charters — they book the entire ship for an LGBTQ+ audience all week. Higher cost (typically $3,500–$6,000+ per person), maximum-energy gay vacation. Pride at Sea is a hosted group within a regular sailing — you keep the polish and pricing of mainstream cruise lines but get a built-in LGBTQ+ social network. Different vacations for different moods.
Q3Which cruise lines does Pride at Sea sail with?
Most often Celebrity Cruises (long-time community favorite), Royal Caribbean (big-ship variety), Holland America (premium), and Norwegian (freestyle). Each Pride at Sea sailing is on a specific ship picked for the itinerary — Gayribbean 2027 sails on Celebrity Reflection, Gaylaska 2026 sails the Inside Passage.
Q4Do I have to attend every Pride at Sea event?
Not at all. The calendar is opt-in. The welcome mixer (day 1) and at least one hosted dinner are highly recommended — that’s where you build your week’s social network. Beyond that, attend what suits you and skip what doesn’t.
Q5Is Pride at Sea right for solo gay travelers?
Yes — particularly. The welcome mixer makes social entry effortless. We offer roommate matching for travelers who want to share a cabin to save the single supplement, and the hosted group dinners give you a built-in friend network from day one.
Q6How much does a Pride at Sea cruise cost?
Typically $1,500–$2,500 per person for a 7-night Caribbean Pride at Sea sailing, double occupancy. Pricing matches the cruise line’s public fare (the Pride at Sea hosting layer is small) — you’re paying mainstream-cruise prices for charter-style community. Full cost breakdown here.
Q7What happens at the welcome mixer?
Day 1 of every Pride at Sea sailing has a sailaway welcome mixer. Pride Travelers makes introductions across the group, dinner reservations get sorted, and the social spine of the trip is set within the first 90 minutes on board. By dinner that night, you have a table of new friends.
Q8Can my partner/friends/family who are straight come along?
Absolutely. Allies, partners, friends, and family members are welcome on every Pride at Sea sailing. Some of our most-loved travelers are mothers, sisters, and chosen family who came along.
Q9How far in advance should I book?
Pride at Sea cabin blocks fill 9–15 months out for popular sailings. Joining the early-access waitlist 12+ months out is the safest way to lock in your stateroom of choice at our group rate — waitlist members are contacted before public booking opens.
Q10What if I want a destination Pride at Sea isn’t sailing yet?
Tell us. We add new hosted sailings to the Pride at Sea calendar based on demand from our LGBTQ+ traveler list — if enough people on the waitlist want a Mediterranean, Mexican Riviera, or Trans-Atlantic Pride at Sea, we’ll add one.
Q11Do I get a better rate booking through Pride Travelers?
The cruise fare is the same as booking direct with Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, etc. The benefits of booking Pride at Sea: access to group rates and onboard credit when promotions are running, the Pride at Sea hosted social calendar, advocacy if anything goes wrong, and a single LGBTQ+ travel agent who handles every detail end-to-end.
Q12Can Pride Travelers book pre- and post-cruise hotels and flights?
Yes — that’s most of what we do. Most LGBTQ+ travelers fly in 1–2 nights early to acclimate and explore the embarkation city. We book LGBTQ+-friendly hotels, airport transfers, pre-cruise dinners, and flights. One agent handles the whole trip.
Q13Is Pride at Sea adults-only?
Pride at Sea sailings follow the host cruise line’s rules. Most of our hosted sailings are on adult-focused itineraries; some specific ships (Virgin Voyages 21+, Viking 18+) are formally adults-only. The Pride at Sea group itself skews adult, but if you’re traveling with kids on a family-friendly line, you’re welcome.
Q14How do I book or join the waitlist?
Click any “Join the Waitlist” button on this page or call Pride Travelers at (888) 865-4525. There’s no cost or commitment to be on the waitlist — you’ll just be the first contacted when pricing and cabin availability open on each Pride at Sea sailing.
